Month 11 in Review.... by Evan's mom

Why is it that I've only managed to post "teeth" pictures lately? I guess being the mommy of a crawlin' and crazy 11 month old leaves little time for blogging! Here's his latest teeth (these three bring the total to 5):

Let's see, what's new? He's crawling everywhere and still working on the coordination to stand unassisted. Loves to walk using the couch, cabinets, walls, mommy, daddy, his lion toy, pretty much anything that doesn't move away faster than he can go (like the kitties.)

He's eating lots of "big boy" food... dried fruit & veggies are the latest craze... grilled cheese sandwiches, sliced lunch meat, yogurt, that sort of thing. Finger foods are a big hit, even if they take forever to eat. We're still nursing, although many days he's too busy and active to nurse often.

He's trying to talk and gets "MaMa" and "DaDa" out at more-or-less appropriate times. Twice he's said "doggie" very clearly and directed at dogs.... once he's said "kitty." Pretty much it's just babble for now.

Somehow he's getting skinnier by the day (ok, not really, it just seems like it). As he gets taller and crawls a lot, he has been thinning down which is pretty typical. Long and lean like daddy. His pants just hang off him if they're long enough (one of his teachers said he needs to borrow some butt from his Godbrother John) :)

Evan's 1st birthday is just around the corner. That will be such a huge milestone for us all!

Month 10 in Review.... by Evan

This month has been fun, but I've been sick a bunch. Mommy says it's cuz I'm in daycare now and the other kids and I like to play together and share our toys and our germs. Oh well, I have so much fun there that I don't even mind being sick.

Grandma & Grandpa Hunt came to visit me in February, then Grandmommy Mitchell came in March. It's fun to see them cuz they think I'm so cute and they like to play with me. I have lots of new talents to show them, like crawling and walking, feeding myself, chasing the kitties, rolling over (good luck on those diaper changes... gotta be super fast!), clapping, and babbling all the time. Oh, and I have teeth and I'm getting really big.

9 Months Old!!

Evan is now 9 Months Old.... amazing! I can't believe it's been that long.
He loves the computer, as you can tell. Anything that lights up is fun too.... favorites include the remote, the cell phone, the regular phone, the alarm control panel, and the thermostat.... lights and numbers are a good combo for this little guy.

We spent Super Bowl Sunday with our friends Justin, Brooke, John, Amanda, Todd, and Adam. All the babies were in good moods so we had a really nice evening. This is a picture of John and Evan playing with Evan's "basketball/football/baseball" game. Evan has no qualms about hanging on the rim!

We went to the pediatrician today for his 9-month checkup. He weighed in at 20#2.5oz (45%), height 28.5" (60%) and head circumference 46.1cm (70%). Every one of these data points are up considerably from his 6 month visit. I guess his love of solid foods is showing its effect!!
Speaking of which, he's on to many new foods as his talent for eating matures.... today he tried cantaloupe (not a favorite) and grapes (ok, but hard to gum!) It looks like his first tooth will be getting a friend soon.... the left side is bulging now.
Ok, naptime is soon to be over, so I'd better run.

Finally at 9 months....

Evan has a tooth!! Of course it's hard to get a picture of a little nub of a tooth in the wiggly mouth of a 9 month old, but trust me, it's finally through!

Month 9 in review... by Evan

The weeks are all running together, so I'm switching to a monthly update. Mommy doesn't count my age in weeks anymore, so it seems to make sense to her too.

Let's see, since last time, there has been Christmas with the Mitchells (Grandmommy, Granddaddy, Aunt Lynda, and Uncle Ed).

LSU won the championship....

Mommy has gone back to work and I have started school. I'm the oldest in my class, and am the only one trying to move all over the place, so I keep Ms Kara and Ms Samantha on their toes.

My biggest accomplishments lately have been standing and pulling up. I will try to pull up on anything that's in reach... the crib, toys, furniture, mommy, daddy, etc.

Getting a little closer to crawling, but I still may not do that at all and skip right to walking. Oh, and teeth? Who needs teeth? There might be one trying to come in on the bottom, but it's looked and felt the same for 3 weeks now. Hmmm.

Weeks 32-33 in Review.... by Evan

Armed with long wish lists and our running shoes, Mommy and I have been checking off who's been naughty and who's been nice. So far, everybody has been nice, except for Scarlet and Sapphire. They got an early present of "coal" in the form of a scatmat. It's a sheet of plastic that zaps them with a static charge when they go under the Christmas tree. We've lost a bunch of ornaments and had the lights all pulled down several times, so maybe this will help keep them out of the tree. Silly kitties.

This is my really cute Santa suit from Miss Kirsten, Mr. Bill, Arden and Nora.

And my "Baby's First Christmas" teddy bear from Miss Brooke, Mr. Justin, and John.

We hope you're having as much fun getting ready for Christmas as we are!

Ho Ho Ho!! Love, Santa Evan
